The song emerged in the frame of the project fem* voice circle. Its chorus is based on a passage we chose from Gloria Anzaldúa’s book “Borderlands”, for which Fatima composed the music.

The verses were written and sung collectively in a group improvisation during one of the fem* voice circle sessions.
